Verizon Business Charlotte, NC
Fios Fiber & 5G Business Internet for the Queen City’s Expanding Commercial Community
Fios Business Internet on a 100% fiber optic network and 5G Business Internet are the two ways Verizon Business can connect Charlotte: the first if fiber is practical and available at your location; the latter if fiber isn’t a feasible option or if speed of installation is critical. No matter where your business in Charlotte is located, whether it be Uptown, South End, or Ballantyne, what will make for a good connection depends on what your infrastructure looks like and if you need symmetrical upload speeds.
Note: Availability of Verizon Fios depends on the availability of fiber optics at your location in Charlotte.
Positioning of Verizon in Charlotte Business Internet Market
The business environment in Charlotte is varied: uptown financial services and professional companies, South End’s creative and tech companies, Ballantyne office facilities, and industry operations near the I-85. The Fios network of Verizon provides a competitive solution for Charlotte businesses that can use it—fiber internet symmetrically, without data limits, and an experienced company.
The real problem for any Charlotte business seeking a good solution is that Fios network is not available throughout Charlotte business addresses. For that reason, Verizon’s 5G Business Internet can partly replace it—wireless connectivity with maximum speeds up to 400 Mbps for those places which do not have Fios yet. Besides, it works well as an additional tool to ensure business continuity and prevent downtime.
According to the pricing information on Verizon Charlotte website, the monthly cost of Fios Business Internet starts from $69 per month in Verizon Business plans. The same plan of 5G Business Internet starts at a lower price in the case of qualifying bundles.
- Fios Fiber gives you symmetrical upload/download service when possible

Deciding Between Fios and 5G for Your Charlotte Company
When deciding on whether to use Fios or 5G Business Internet for your Charlotte company, it comes down to what you need out of your internet connection. Fios provides symmetrical fiber speeds, which means the uploading speed is the same as the downloading speed, and this is needed by companies that transfer big files, do cloud backups, and conduct video conferences often. 5G Business Internet is installed quickly and does not require any fiber construction, hence it is suitable for companies whose locations are temporary.
The downside of using 5G is that the speeds are inconsistent depending on network coverage and congestion, while the upload speeds are slower compared to the download speeds. The best fit for Charlotte companies that require reliable internet performance is Fios, especially when the business is critical.
- Fios: Symmetrical speeds, fiber performance, unlimited data
- 5G: Fast installation, no fiber construction, unlimited data
- Both: Unlimited data, business class services
