Verizon Business San Diego, CA
Fast 5G fixed wireless internet with nationwide coverage and quick setup—but not Verizon Fios fiber in San Diego.
Verizon Business sells two very distinct internet services: Fios fiber (fast, symmetrical but limited to East Coast cities) and 5G Business Internet (wireless, nation-wide coverage and quick deployment). In San Diego, the only viable internet service from Verizon is 5G Business Internet, offering speeds of up to 400 Mbps with plans starting from $69 per month. Availability of Verizon Fios fiber in San Diego is limited or non-existent—you should not assume that the “Fios” messaging on Verizon’s local store pages means fiber availability at your premises.
Verizon Fios fiber is not confirmed to be available in San Diego. Verizon 5G Business Internet availability is dependent on the address and network coverage at your location. Always confirm the product and technology at your specific address before signing up.
The True Products That Verizon Business Provides In San Diego
Verizon’s portfolio of business internet products falls into either fiber or wireless categories. Businesses from San Diego should be aware of which option they are truly offered.
5G Business Internet – This is the wireless solution from Verizon that uses cellular networks to provide internet access through a plug-and-play router. 100 Mbps, 200 Mbps, and 400 Mbps plans are provided for the cost of around $69, $99, and $199 per month. Installation is instant – there is no fiber deployment involved with a short setup time frame and unlimited data allowance with a ten-year price lock within certain locations.
Fios Business Internet – This is the fiber offering by Verizon, providing symmetrical speeds along with claims of 99.99% reliability. However, Fios has been historically offered in East Coast cities. Though, it is mentioned in Verizon’s store pages in San Diego that the cost of Fios Business Internet starts at $69 per month, it is just corporate generalization.
So the practical lesson for San Diego? When you call Verizon Business Services for service, you can anticipate getting 5G Business Internet. It may work for general office purposes, for a temporary space, or as an alternative internet source—but don't mistake it for symmetrical fiber; upload speeds will be lower than download.
